The Kidman Flower Co. story

Perched high on a ridgetop overlooking the stunning Onkaparinga Valley, Kidman Flower Co. has been a beloved part of the Adelaide Hills for over 40 years.

Originally established in the 1980s, the property began as a thriving export business, supplying premium native flowers to markets in the United States and Asia. In 2001, Des and Ange Kidman—potato farmers from South Australia's South East—took over the farm, bringing with them a deep respect for the land and a passion for sustainable flower growing.

Under their stewardship, the business evolved to focus on the domestic Australian market, ensuring florists, event specialists, and flower lovers across the country had access to high-quality, locally grown native blooms. Des and Ange have been pivotal in championing native flowers, educating florists and buyers on their beauty, versatility, and sustainability. Their dedication has helped build a greater appreciation for Australian natives within the floristry industry.

Though they have now passed the reins, Des and Ange remain an integral part of the Kidman Flower Co. story—sharing their deep knowledge and working alongside us in a hands-on capacity. We are incredibly proud that they have entrusted us to carry on the Kidman name and grow the company into the future, continuing their legacy of sustainable, high-quality flower farming.
